Tissue rejuvenation using Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)
Explanations
PRP is a procedure that enables tissue regeneration and rejuvenation by utilizing the regenerative properties of blood platelets. Platelets are one of the components of blood, along with red and white blood cells. Platelets contain numerous growth factors, which are physiological products with significant regenerative power.
Due to its beneficial properties, PRP can be used to combat facial tissue aging.
The injection of this autologous product, i.e., derived from the patient's own body, is of course free from any risk of foreign body reaction, rejection, or allergy.
Objectives of the intervention
This technique stimulates stem cells through platelet growth factors in skin structures:
To IMPROVE the skin on the face, neck, and décolleté, TREAT early dark circles by improving skin texture and color, TREAT fine lines around the mouth or early frown lines, and COMBAT baldness.
It can be combined with lipostructure, i.e., the transfer of fatty tissue, if a genuine volumizing effect is desired, improving the grafting of adipose tissue, with an additional regenerating effect.
The intervention
The procedure is performed at the Phénicia Clinic, in a surgical environment to avoid any risk of contamination.
First, a blood sample will be taken to collect a few milliliters of blood. This will then be centrifuged to isolate a platelet-enriched phase with a concentration factor of 3 to 6.
The PRP is then injected into the desired areas, after local anesthesia if necessary (perioral region). Sedation may be administered by an anesthesiologist at the Clinique Phénicia for maximum comfort.
There is no need to remain hospitalized.
Postoperative care
The after-effects are simple and comparable to those of a filler injection.
The patient should be warned that a slight inflammatory reaction is possible for 48 to 72 hours. The effect lasts from 6 months to a year, so it is a temporary effect that should be repeated over time.
It is important to note that PRP treatment does not tighten the skin like a facelift or smooth deep wrinkles like a peel, but it can be combined with these techniques as part of an overall tissue rejuvenation program and plays an important role in preventing skin aging.
