Breasts can sag prematurely, sometimes as early as puberty due to excess volume, after pregnancy, particularly with significant weight gain, after significant weight loss, or most often with age.
Objectives of the intervention
A breast lift corrects breast ptosis, which manifests itself as sagging of the mammary gland and loosening of the skin surrounding it.
Depending on the case (chest shape, breast height, etc.), either round implants with a circular base or anatomical implants shaped like a teardrop can be used.
Possible outcomes:
The intervention
A breast lift lifts and reshapes sagging breasts. The gland is reshaped, the areola is lifted, and excess skin is removed.
During a breast lift, the plastic surgeon aims to achieve the smallest possible scars in order to harmonize the shape and stability of the breast.
It is also possible to increase breast volume during a lift by simultaneously inserting breast implants. This procedure is performed if the breasts are sagging and the patient considers their volume to be insufficient.
Postoperative care
Wearing a bra for 2 to 3 months after the lift provides essential support for the final result of the procedure. Close post-operative monitoring is provided for the first four months after the breast lift.
