As provided for in Article D.6322-48 of the Public Health Code. The PHENICIA Clinic in Marseille has obtained, by prefectural decree, compliance certification from the Bouches-du-Rhône Departmental Health and Social Affairs Directorate (DDASS) for cosmetic surgery activities.
Supervision by the Regional Health Agency (ARS)
The Phenicia Clinic performs medical and surgical activities under the supervision of Regional Health Agency, a public authority that guarantees the quality and safety of healthcare in France. Every procedure performed at the clinic, whether it involves cosmetic surgery, from refractive surgery or from cosmetic medicine, complies with strict regulations and specific authorizations issued by the ARS. These requirements cover the compliance of premises and operating rooms, the quality of medical equipment, and the rigorous application of hygiene protocols.Safety, competence, and transparency
HAS commitment
The French National Authority for Health (HAS) is increasingly requiring clinics to undergo a certification process aimed at ensuring optimal quality of care.
This certification attests to the clinic's compliance with health and safety standards, emergency management, infection control, and aseptic practices. It also guarantees the quality of procedures for medical device vigilance, risk management, traceability, and anesthesia safety, as well as the compliance of facilities and the qualifications of staff.
These requirements, implemented in France, respond to a major imperative: to protect users and ensure care is provided under the safest conditions possible. It is therefore essential to weigh up the risks involved in choosing to have surgery abroad, in establishments that do not always meet such quality standards, simply to save a little money .
A certification visit took place in June 2019, and the certification remains valid.
The Phénicia Clinic in Marseille obtained the HAS "Independent Cosmetic Surgery Facility" certification without any reservations.
Certification is an external evaluation procedure for healthcare facilities, aimed at guaranteeing and continuously improving the quality of patient care and the safety of treatment.
Whether it involves a seemingly simple surgical procedure such as the insertion of subcutaneous threads to tighten facial skin or an injection hyaluronic acid to add volume to the face, or a more invasive procedure such as lipolysis to reduce fatty tissue, these procedures must, for safety reasons and in particular to prevent infection, be performed exclusively in a facility that has HAS certification and meets compliance requirements.
It is important to remember that the term " clinic " is not legally protected. Some practitioners misuse it by describing a simple medical office equipped with a non-compliant operating room as a " clinic." However, the level of safety offered by this type of facility cannot be compared to that of genuine clinics, which are subject to strict regulations and hold HAS certification, guaranteeing their compliance with the requirements imposed by the health authorities.
