Blepharoplasty blepharoplasty (eyelid lift or eyelid surgery) aims to correct the signs of aging present in the upper or lower eyelids.
Blepharoplasty, objectives of the procedure:
During youth, the outer corner of the eye is higher than the inner corner. Over time, sagging eyebrows and orbicularis muscle cause crow's feet and horizontal wrinkles at the corners of the eyes. The eyelids and therefore the eyes are one of the first areas of the face to show signs of aging.
Eyelid lift surgery (blepharoplasty) aims to correct the signs of aging present in the upper or lower eyelids, replacing the "tired" look with a more rested and relaxed appearance, and thus restoring a youthful glow to the eyes.
Blepharoplasty, possible results:
Aging generally manifests itself in the upper eyelids with the appearance of a fold of skin that masks the upper eyelid crease and droops more or less in front of the eyelids.
Blepharoplasty involves removing this small fold of skin by making a small incision in the crease of the eyelids. It can be combined with a temple lift when the excess skin extends beyond the orbicularis oculi muscle, forming a "cap" around the eye.
Eyelid surgery is performed on an outpatient basis at the Phénicia Cosmetic Clinic in Marseille. Anesthesia may be local with analgesia or general.
Postoperative care
Generally, eyelid surgery, eyelid lift, or blepharoplasty is not a painful procedure. Only a feeling of tightness and slight irritation may be felt.
On the other hand, swelling, eye discomfort, and small bruises on the eyelids may be observed for a few days following eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, at the Phénicia Cosmetic Clinic in Marseille. The scar is usually barely visible and bruising is rare.
